 Panta Rhei Quartet

 Panta Rhei Quartet

Presentation:
In 2005 four saxophonists, who had got to know one another during their international studies, decided to form a permanent ensemble.
True to the name they gave themselves, the members of “panta rhei“ are artists constantly stylistically “in flux“, combining together, as the basis for their artistic activity, experience drawn from their studies in Munich, Cologne, Amsterdam, and Tokyo.
Perfect ensemble playing, carefully considered interpretations, unconventional programmes, and a surprisingly rich spectrum of sound – all this sets the quartet apart, along with their policy of working with contemporary composers while continuing also to cultivate the classical saxophone repertoire. In this way, “panta rhei“ opens up new dimensions for the saxophone quartet, consciously declining to be tied down to any one musical style and engaging rather with works of the most various types and genres.
In addition to their activity in the quartet, the musicians have won prizes in the “Aberdeen Chamber Music Competition“ and the “International Wolfgang Jacobi Competition for Modern Chamber Music” and also play as members of “Selmer Saxharmonic“ and the “Ensemble Modern”. Concert tours have taken them throughout Europe and as far as Asia and America. These were followed by appearances together with such renowned orchestras as the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Hofer Concert Orchestra, the Stuttgart State Opera, and the Cologne WDR Symphony Orchestra.
