Bearing the number 1297 and the inscription "Adolphe Sax made by H. Selmer", this instrument is to some extent a symbol of the integration of the Adolphe Sax company within Selmer. Even so, it is above all a Selmer model : the "Cigar Cutter".
The “Cigar Cutter” model (1931 to 1934), so-called by the Americans because of its octave key design, was also characterized by its V-shaped guard and a narrow but thicker neck slide that was machined from solid nickel silver.
This model forms part of the "Super Sax Selmer" series marked "SSS".
