In 1929, Selmer acquired the company Adolphe Sax & Co whose workshops were located on 84 rue Myrha, in the eighteenth arrondissement of Paris. Paradoxically, this acquisition (which made Selmer the sole legatee to the brilliant inventor) enabled Selmer to start producing a brass range, one of the great specialities of Sax at the time.
