Since his creation, some of the greatest woodwind musicians have been members of the “Musique de la Garde Républicaine” orchestra. Reissued in this box set, from the original recordings, are the three LP records dedicated to the Sextuor de Clarinettes de la Garde Républicaine (from the album La Clarinette Vol.1), which in 1955 became the Sextuor de Clarinettes de Paris (on the albums La Clarinette Vols.4 & 5). The set is rounded out with six sides from 78s recorded for Selmer between 1948 and 1950 by this same formation. Most of those works were recorded there for the first time.
